Starbucks Opens Flagship Coffeehouse in Guadalajara to Support Women
Starbucks, together with its licensed partner Alsea, has opened a new flagship coffeehouse in Guadalajara called Casa de las Sirenas (House of the Sirens). The new space is designed as a community-focused café dedicated to supporting women through training, employment, and economic development programs.
Located on Manuel Ávila Camacho Avenue inside a restored former bank building, the coffeehouse blends modern café design with local culture. The space is inspired by the Starbucks Siren and aims to create a welcoming environment where people can connect, work, and take part in community life.
A key feature of the initiative is its social impact program, “Autonomy Is Sweet Too,” launched in partnership with Fundación Alsea and Fundación Marisa. The program will support more than 1,000 women in Jalisco through education, training, and personal development opportunities aimed at improving long-term financial independence.
Starbucks also confirmed that up to 7% of sales from Casa de las Sirenas will go directly toward funding these women-focused programs, supported by a Global Community Impact Grant from The Starbucks Foundation.
